steps

  1. install kuberctl

    1. use brew

       $ brew install kubectl
       ...
       ==> Summary
       🍺  /usr/local/Cellar/kubernetes-cli/1.10.2: 178 files, 52.8MB
      
  2. install minikube

    1. use curl

       $ curl -Lo minikube https://storage.googleapis.com/minikube/releases/v0.27.0/minikube-darwin-amd64 && chmod +x minikube && sudo mv minikube /usr/local/bin/
      
    2. version

       $ minikube version
       minikube version: v0.27.0
      
    3. start a kubernets with minikube

       $ minikube start
       Starting local Kubernetes v1.10.0 cluster...
       Starting VM...
       Getting VM IP address...
       Moving files into cluster...
       Setting up certs...
       Connecting to cluster...
       Setting up kubeconfig...
       Starting cluster components...
       Kubectl is now configured to use the cluster.
       Loading cached images from config file.
      
    4. check status

       $ minikube status
       minikube: Running
       cluster: Running
       kubectl: Correctly Configured: pointing to minikube-vm at 192.168.99.100
      
    5. reset and restart cluster

       $ minikube delete
       $ minikube start
      
    6. dashboard

       $ minikube dashboard
       Opening kubernetes dashboard in default browser...
       http://192.168.99.100:30000/
      
  3. kubectl

    1. version

       $ kubectl version

    3. componentstatuses

       $ kubectl get componentstatuses

    4. state of all pods

       $ kubectl get pods --all-namespaces
